The scholars of the humans are three

And from ibn Mas’ūd:

The Scholars of the humans are three:

One in ‘Irāq

And the other in al-Shām, meaning: Abā al-Dardā-e —

And he needs the one in ‘Irāq, meaning: himself —

And they need the one in al-Madīnah, meaning: ‘Alī radiAllāhu ‘anhu.[2]

وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُوْدٍ: عُلَمَاءُ النَّاسِ ثَلاَثَةٌ: وَاحِدٌ بِالعِرَاقِ، وَآخَرُ بِالشَّامِ -يَعْنِي: أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ- وَهُوَ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى الَّذِي بِالعِرَاقِ -يَعْنِي: نَفْسَهُ- وَهُمَا يَحْتَاجَانِ إِلَى الَّذِي بِالمَدِيْنَةِ -يَعْنِي: عَلِيّاً رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ (2) -.إِسْنَادُهُ ضَعِيْفٌ.
